Class Notes:

The CNA Certification for English Language Learners is a 14 week, intensive program where learners work towards their CNA credential while improving their English language proficiency. Instruction will be given via in-class lectures and discussions.

Course Syllabus:

Unit 1: Introduction to Healthcare/CNA Program (1 week)

Unit 3: Professional Standards, Workplace Communication, and Task Delegation (2 weeks)

Unit 4: Compassionate Care: Physical, Physiological, and Psychological Aspects of Care (3 weeks)

Unit 5: Biological Hazards, Infection, and Infection Control (3 weeks)

Unit 6: Personal Safety, Patient Safety, Patient Comfort, and Responding to Emergencies (3 weeks)

Unit 7: Daily Living Activities, Common Procedures, and Optional (Context-specific) Procedures (3 weeks)
