Mohammed Ali (1942-2016) was an American boxer, widely considered as one of the greatest boxers of all time. Born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr., he won the world heavyweight championship in 1964 at the age of 22, defeating Sonny Liston. He was known for his lightning-fast footwork and unorthodox fighting style, as well as his colorful personality and political activism, including his opposition to the Vietnam War. He retired from boxing with a record of 56 wins, 5 losses, and 37 knockouts. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990.
