Jamaica Plain Community Centers
ADULT LEARNING PROGRAM
National Poetry Month, a celebration of poetry that takes place each April, was introduced in 1996 and is organized by the Academy of American Poets as a way to increase awareness and appreciation of poetry in the United States.
In April, the month of Poetry, we can hear the voices of the main American Poets in a collection curated by Nidia Hernandez, a student belonging to The Jamaica Plain Community Centers Adult Learning Program (JPCCALP).
These recordings were made at the Miami Book Fair and other locations, it is a complete sample of what American poets are writing in this century. You are welcome to the world of poetry
